- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2–3 tbsp milk (for glaze)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)
- 1/2 cup rainbow sprinkles
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a donut pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix together buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Combine wet ingredients with dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each mold about 2/3 full.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until donuts spring back when touched.
- Let donuts cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- While donuts cool, prepare glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Dip each donut in the glaze and immediately top with rainbow sprinkles.
- Allow glaze to set before serving.
Notes
- For a thicker glaze, reduce the amount of milk.
- Sprinkles can be customized by occasion or preference.
- Donuts are best enjoyed the same day but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
