Ingredients

						Scale

		- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
 - 2 ½ tsp baking powder
 - ½ tsp salt
 - 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
 - 2 cups granulated sugar
 - 4 large eggs
 - 1 tbsp cotton candy flavoring
 - 1 cup whole milk
 - Pink and blue food coloring
 - Edible glitter (for decoration)
 - Cotton candy (for topping)
 - 3 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
 - 1 cup unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
 - 2–3 tbsp milk or cream (for frosting)
 - 1 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease three 8-inch cake pans.
 - In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
 - In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
 - Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in cotton candy flavoring.
 - Alternately add the dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
 - Divide batter evenly into two bowls. Tint one with pink food coloring and the other with blue.
 - Spoon alternating dollops of pink and blue batter into prepared pans. Swirl gently for a marbled effect.
 - Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
 - For the frosting, beat butter until fluffy, then gradually add powdered sugar. Add vanilla and enough milk to reach desired consistency.
 - Frost cooled cake layers, stacking them carefully. Cover entire cake with a smooth layer of frosting.
 - Decorate with edible glitter and top with tufts of cotton candy just before serving.

Notes
- Only add cotton candy right before serving to avoid it melting.
 - You can use store-bought or homemade cotton candy flavoring.
 - Store the cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
