Virgin Mojito with Mint and Lime

A refreshing non-alcoholic mojito bursting with fresh mint, zesty lime and a touch of sweetness—perfect for hot days or as a light party mocktail.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1012 fresh mint leaves
  • 1/2 lime, cut into 4 wedges
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar (or 15 ml simple syrup)
  • 120 ml (1/2 cup) chilled sparkling water or club soda
  • 60 ml (1/4 cup) chilled still water (optional, to taste)
  • 68 ice cubes
  • Mint sprig and lime wheel, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place the mint leaves and 2 lime wedges in a sturdy glass. Sprinkle the sugar over them.
  2. Use a muddler (or the handle of a wooden spoon) to gently muddle the mint and lime until the juice is released and the sugar begins to dissolve. Avoid shredding the mint into tiny pieces.
  3. Squeeze the remaining 2 lime wedges into the glass, then drop them in.
  4. Add the ice cubes, pour in the sparkling water (and still water if using), and give everything a gentle stir to lift the mint throughout the drink.
  5. Garnish with a sprig of mint and a lime wheel. Serve immediately with a straw.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less sugar/simple syrup.
  • For a quicker version, replace granulated sugar with liquid sweetener to skip muddling time.
  • Add a splash of flavored sparkling water (e.g., coconut or berry) for a twist.
  • Crushed ice will chill and dilute the drink faster than cubes—helpful on very hot days.
