Tzatziki Sauce

Tzatziki sauce is a refreshing Greek condiment made with yogurt, cucumber, garlic, and herbs. It’s perfect as a dip, spread, or topping for grilled meats and vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cucumber, grated and drained
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Grate the cucumber and squeeze out excess moisture using a cheesecloth or paper towel.
  2. In a bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, and chopped dill.
  3. Stir until well combined.
  4. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to let the flavors meld.

Notes

  • Use full-fat Greek yogurt for a richer texture.
  • Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Great as a dip for pita or a sauce for gyros and grilled meats.
