Taco Salad

A flavorful and easy-to-make taco salad loaded with seasoned ground beef, fresh vegetables, crunchy tortilla chips, and a zesty dressing. Perfect for a quick lunch or a light dinner.

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 6 cups chopped romaine lettuce
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped red onion
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 1 avocado, diced
  • 1 cup crushed tortilla chips
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or ranch dressing (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add taco seasoning and water to the beef. Stir and simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
  3. In a large bowl, combine romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, red onion, black olives, avocado, and shredded cheese.
  4. Add the seasoned ground beef to the salad mixture.
  5. Top with crushed tortilla chips and chopped cilantro.
  6. Drizzle with sour cream or ranch dressing if desired.
  7. Toss gently and serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • Add jalapeños for extra spice.
  • Serve the dressing on the side to keep the salad crisp longer.
