Spiced Chai Tea Latte

A warm, comforting beverage made with black tea, aromatic spices, milk, and sweetener, perfect for cozy mornings or relaxing evenings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 black tea bags
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 4 cardamom pods, slightly crushed
  • 2 black peppercorns
  • 1 star anise (optional)
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, sliced
  • 2 cups milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 2 tablespoons honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, bring water to a boil and add cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, peppercorns, star anise (if using), and ginger.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes to infuse the spices.
  3. Add the black tea bags and steep for 5 minutes.
  4. Remove the tea bags and strain the spiced tea to remove the solids.
  5. Return the strained tea to the saucepan and add milk and sweetener.
  6. Heat gently over medium heat until hot, but do not boil.
  7. Stir in vanilla extract if using, then pour into mugs and serve hot.

Notes

  • Adjust spice quantities to taste for a stronger or milder flavor.
  • Use non-dairy milk for a vegan version.
  • Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and reheated.
