Sour Cream and Onion Chicken

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 packet (1 oz) onion soup mix
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, mix sour cream, onion soup mix, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear chicken breasts for 2-3 minutes on each side until lightly browned.
  4. Place the seared chicken breasts in a baking dish.
  5. Spread the sour cream and onion mixture evenly over the chicken breasts.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce is bubbly.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve hot.
