- 2 packs instant noodles (Maggi or similar)
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 1 egg
- 100 g chicken, shrimp, or tofu (optional)
- 1 cup cabbage, shredded
- 1 small tomato, sliced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
- 1 tbsp chili sauce
- 1/2 tsp curry powder (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh lime wedges, for serving
- Boil instant noodles for 2 minutes, drain, and set aside.
- Heat oil in a wok or large pan and sauté garlic and onion until fragrant.
- Add chicken, shrimp, or tofu (if using) and stir-fry until cooked through.
- Push ingredients to one side and scramble the egg in the wok.
- Add cabbage and tomato, stir-frying until slightly softened.
- Add noodles, soy sauce, sweet soy sauce, chili sauce, and curry powder; toss well to coat evenly.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot with lime wedges on the side.
Notes
- You can substitute protein with just vegetables for a vegetarian version.
- Adjust the chili sauce according to your spice preference.
- Maggi noodles are traditional, but any instant noodle brand works.
