A unique twist on the classic Italian dessert, these Matcha Tiramisu Jars feature layers of matcha-soaked ladyfingers, creamy mascarpone filling, and a dusting of matcha powder for a vibrant and flavorful treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz mascarpone cheese
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp matcha powder (plus extra for dusting)
  • 3/4 cup hot water
  • 2 tbsp honey or sugar (optional, for sweetening matcha soak)
  • 1216 ladyfinger cookies (savoiardi)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together hot water, 1 tbsp matcha powder, and honey (if using) until fully dissolved. Let cool.
  2. In another bowl, beat heavy cream with sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  3. Add mascarpone cheese and a pinch of salt to the whipped cream mixture and fold gently until smooth and fully combined.
  4. Briefly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled matcha soak and place a layer at the bottom of your jars or glasses.
  5. Spread a layer of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  6. Repeat the layers until the jars are full, finishing with mascarpone on top.
  7. Chill the jars in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight to set.
  8. Before serving, dust the tops with additional matcha powder.

Notes

  • Use ceremonial grade matcha for best flavor and color.
  • Do not over-soak the ladyfingers to avoid sogginess.
  • Chilling overnight enhances the flavor and texture.
