A cozy and comforting twist on traditional hot chocolate, this Maple Cinnamon Hot Chocolate blends rich cocoa with warm cinnamon and natural maple syrup for a deliciously spiced winter drink.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Whipped cream or marshmallows, for topping (optional)
  • Ground cinnamon or cinnamon stick, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together milk, cocoa powder, maple syrup, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt.
  2. Heat the mixture, stirring occasionally, until hot but not boiling.
  3. Remove from heat and pour into a mug.
  4. Top with whipped cream or marshmallows if desired and sprinkle with a little cinnamon or add a cinnamon stick for garnish.
  5. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less maple syrup.
  • Use almond, oat, or soy milk for a vegan version.
