Mango Lassi

Mango Lassi is a popular traditional Indian yogurt-based drink made with ripe mangoes, yogurt, milk, and flavored with cardamom. It’s creamy, refreshing, and perfect for hot weather.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ripe mango (fresh or canned), chopped
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 23 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 45 ice cubes
  • Chopped pistachios or saffron strands for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel and chop the mango if using fresh mangoes.
  2. In a blender, add the chopped mango, yogurt, milk, sugar, ground cardamom, and ice cubes.
  3. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  4. Taste and adjust sugar if needed.
  5. Pour into glasses and garnish with chopped pistachios or saffron if desired.
  6. Serve immediately, chilled.

Notes

  • You can use canned mango pulp if fresh mangoes are not available.
  • Adjust sugar depending on the sweetness of the mangoes.
  • Use Greek yogurt for a thicker lassi.
  • Add a splash of rose water for an aromatic twist.
