Lemon Iced Tea

A refreshing and tangy homemade lemon iced tea, perfect for hot days and easy to make with just a few simple ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 4 black tea bags
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup granulated sugar (to taste)
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 23 lemons)
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices (for garnish, optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil 4 cups of water in a saucepan or kettle.
  2. Once boiling, remove from heat and add the tea bags. Let steep for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Remove the tea bags and stir in the sugar while the tea is still warm, until fully dissolved.
  4. Let the sweetened tea cool to room temperature.
  5. Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice and stir well.
  6. Refrigerate the tea for at least 1 hour until chilled.
  7. Serve over ice, garnished with lemon slices and mint leaves if desired.

Notes

  • Adjust the sugar amount to taste or use honey or a sugar substitute for a healthier version.
  • For stronger tea, steep the tea bags longer or use more bags.
  • Can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
