Hot Chocolate with Marshmallows

A rich and creamy hot chocolate topped with fluffy marshmallows — the perfect cozy drink for cold days.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup mini marshmallows (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, whisk together the cocoa powder, sugar, salt, and 2 tablespoons of the milk until smooth.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and add the remaining milk and chocolate chips.
  3. Stir constantly until the chocolate chips are melted and the mixture is hot, but not boiling.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Pour the hot chocolate into mugs and top with mini marshmallows.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

  • You can substitute milk with a non-dairy alternative like almond or oat milk.
  • Adjust sugar to taste based on your sweetness preference.
  • For extra richness, use half milk and half heavy cream.
