Grilled Shrimp Tacos

These Grilled Shrimp Tacos are a light, flavorful dish featuring marinated shrimp grilled to perfection and served in warm tortillas with fresh toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage or slaw mix
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise (optional)
  • 1 tbsp lime juice (for sauce)
  • Sliced avocado, for garnish
  • Fresh lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine olive oil, lime juice, garlic, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Add shrimp and marinate for 15–30 minutes.
  2. Preheat grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Thread shrimp onto skewers if using an outdoor grill.
  3. Grill shrimp for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and slightly charred. Remove from heat.
  4. Warm tortillas on the grill or in a skillet.
  5. In a small bowl, mix sour cream, mayonnaise (if using), and lime juice to make a creamy sauce.
  6. Assemble tacos by placing cabbage in tortillas, topping with grilled shrimp, drizzling with sauce, and garnishing with cilantro and avocado.
  7. Serve with lime wedges on the side.

Notes

  • Shrimp cook very quickly—do not overcook or they will become rubbery.
  • Can be made with flour or corn tortillas depending on preference.
  • For a spicier version, add a pinch of cayenne to the marinade or a few dashes of hot sauce to the sauce.
