Gingerbread White Hot Chocolate

A cozy and festive twist on traditional hot chocolate, this Gingerbread White Hot Chocolate combines creamy white chocolate with warm gingerbread spices for a perfect winter treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips or chopped white chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon molasses
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream, for topping (optional)
  • Crushed gingersnap cookies or ground cinnamon, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine milk and heavy cream over medium heat. Heat until just steaming, but not boiling.
  2. Stir in the white chocolate chips and whisk until fully melted and smooth.
  3. Add molasses, ground ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract. Whisk until well combined.
  4. Continue to heat for another 1-2 minutes until hot but not boiling.
  5. Remove from heat and pour into mugs.
  6. Top with whipped cream and garnish with crushed gingersnap cookies or a sprinkle of cinnamon, if desired.

Notes

  • Adjust spice levels to taste for a milder or bolder flavor.
  • Can be made dairy-free by substituting plant-based milk and cream and using dairy-free white chocolate.
