Funfetti Cake Pops

Funfetti Cake Pops are festive, bite-sized treats made with vanilla cake mixed with frosting, rolled into balls, coated in candy melts, and topped with sprinkles. Perfect for parties or celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box Funfetti or vanilla cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box – typically eggs, oil, and water)
  • 1/2 cup vanilla frosting
  • 12 oz candy melts (white or color of choice)
  • Sprinkles, for decorating
  • Cake pop sticks

Instructions

  1. Prepare and bake the Funfetti cake according to package instructions. Let it cool completely.
  2. Crumble the cooled cake into a large bowl until fine crumbs form.
  3. Add frosting a spoonful at a time and mix until the cake holds together when pressed. You may not need the entire 1/2 cup.
  4. Roll mixture into 1-inch balls and place on a lined baking sheet. Chill in the freezer for 15-20 minutes.
  5. Melt candy melts according to package instructions until smooth.
  6. Dip one end of a cake pop stick into the melted candy, then insert it halfway into a cake ball. Repeat with remaining balls.
  7. Dip each cake pop into the melted candy coating, tapping off excess gently.
  8. Immediately top with sprinkles before the coating hardens.
  9. Place the coated cake pops upright in a styrofoam block or cake pop stand to set.
  10. Allow to fully set at room temperature or refrigerate briefly to speed up the process.

Notes

  • Do not add too much frosting or the cake pops will be too soft.
  • If the candy coating is too thick, add a small amount of vegetable shortening to thin it out.
  • Cake pops can be made ahead and stored in the fridge or freezer.
