Easy Creamy Garlic Shrimp (15 Minutes)

Juicy jumbo shrimp quickly seared and tossed in a rich, cheesy garlic-cream sauce—an ultra-easy weeknight seafood dinner ready in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 lb jumbo shrimp, peeled, deveined, tails removed
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons white wine (or chicken broth)
  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ cup shredded white cheddar (or grated Parmesan)
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh parsley, plus extra for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add the shrimp and sear 2–3 minutes per side, just until pink and opaque. Season with the salt and pepper, then transfer to a plate.
  2. Reduce heat to medium. Melt the butter in the same skillet, add the garlic, and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Pour in the white wine, scraping up any browned bits, and simmer for 1 minute.
  4. Stir in the heavy cream, Italian seasoning, and cheese. Bring to a gentle simmer, stirring until the sauce thickens slightly, 2–3 minutes.
  5. Return the shrimp (and any juices) to the skillet, tossing to coat evenly. Warm through for 1 minute.
  6. Garnish with parsley and serve immediately over pasta, rice, mashed potatoes, or with crusty bread for dipping.

Notes

  • Storage: Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container up to 3 days.
  • Reheat gently on the stove over medium-low heat, thinning the sauce with a splash of water or broth if needed.
  • Swap white cheddar for Parmesan, or add a pinch of red-pepper flakes or spinach for variation.
