Easy 15 Minute Parmesan Tilapia

Tender tilapia fillets coated in a savory Parmesan crust and broiled to flaky perfection in just 15 minutes—perfect for a speedy weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 tilapia fillets (about 5 oz / 140 g each)
  • 1/3 cup (30 g) freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 Tbsp (30 ml) olive oil, divided
  • 1 Tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/8 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • Lemon wedges & chopped parsley, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Position an oven rack 6 in/15 cm from the broiler element and preheat the broiler on high. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil and lightly brush with 1 Tbsp olive oil.
  2. Pat the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels, then place them on the prepared sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, stir together the Parmesan, remaining 1 Tbsp olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to make a thick paste.
  4. Spread the Parmesan mixture evenly over the tops of the fillets.
  5. Broil for 8–10 minutes, until the fish flakes easily with a fork and the topping is golden brown.
  6. Serve immediately with optional lemon wedges and a sprinkle of chopped parsley.

Notes

  • For thicker fillets, add 1–2 minutes of broil time—watch closely to prevent burning.
  • Swap tilapia for cod, haddock, or any mild white fish.
  • To keep it dairy-free, replace Parmesan with crushed pork rinds mixed with nutritional yeast.
  • This recipe is naturally gluten-free and low-carb.
