Crockpot Brisket

A tender, flavorful crockpot brisket slow-cooked to perfection with rich spices and a savory sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 34 lbs beef brisket
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the brisket on both sides until browned, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  2. Place sliced onions and garlic at the bottom of the crockpot.
  3. Transfer the seared brisket to the crockpot, placing it on top of the onions and garlic.
  4. In a bowl, mix beef broth, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, smoked paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Pour the sauce mixture over the brisket.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-6 hours, until the brisket is fork-tender.
  7. Remove the brisket, slice or shred, and serve with the sauce from the crockpot.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the brisket overnight with the sauce ingredients.
  • Leftovers make great sandwiches or tacos.
  • Can be frozen for up to 3 months.
