Apple Cider Glazed Carrots

Sweet and tangy Apple Cider Glazed Carrots make a perfect side dish for fall dinners and holiday feasts, combining tender carrots with a flavorful apple cider glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb carrots, peeled and cut into sticks or rounds
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet or saucepan, combine the carrots and apple cider. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Reduce the heat to medium and simmer for 10-12 minutes, or until the carrots are just tender.
  3. Add the butter, brown sugar, salt, pepper, and cinnamon (if using). Stir to coat the carrots evenly.
  4. Continue cooking for another 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the liquid has reduced to a glaze.
  5. Remove from heat and transfer to a serving dish. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use apple cider that is unfiltered and spiced.
  • You can substitute honey or maple syrup for brown sugar for a different sweetness.
  • Baby carrots can be used as a shortcut.
